Unions

I am a Steelworker I believe its a good way to bargain for a living in contracts. Whats sad about todays culture is that the 4 year business school people get all the money and still want your piece of the pie. But whats hilarious about it is they don't do the work they oversee it. We had a manager when bonus time came, he said that "I don't deserve it, I did nothing but oversee, the workers caused us to succeed". He wanted to give his bonus to the workers. Boy talk about making management mad he was an outcast from his fellows. We have a new system now called Kanban; the forklifts, and etc.. that add nothing to our product are non-value=add no value to the product. Well in that definition all management are non-value add no work to the product. When I was younger I forgot to go to business school and then try and take the piece of pie the workers get plus my 100,000 or so that middle management get and kick the peons every now and then. They say the average CEO makes 4,000 dollars an hour in the "Steelworkers" magazine. And then the million dollar golden parachute also. I really believe Unions set standards for wages; you want a living wage or poverty your choice? At least my conscience is clear, and I believe when you work hard for your living life is richer. I am not saying we don't need management, I'm saying the guy who does all the work is the slave according to wages, taxes, and work in most cases.
